On August 16, 1780 in Kershaw County, north of Camden, South Carolina. The battle of Camden was a major victory for the British Army on August 16, 1780. This was a terrible event for America they lost 1000 men captured 900 men killed or wounded.The British had 68 men killed 245 wounded and 11 missing.The commanders and leaders were Lord Cornwallis and Lord Rawdon for the British. For America Horatio Gates, Jonathan De Kalb, and Marquis de la Rouerie.
